The Self-Assessment of Service Statement (SASS) is an online form Registered Persons and Responsible Individuals are required to complete under the Child Minding and Day Care (Wales) Regulations 2010 in relation to monitoring compliance of a service. 

It is a legal requirement for all childminders and childcare and play providers to complete a SASS. 

By completing the SASS you will be providing vital information that CIW use to plan their inspections. It also helps them to advise Welsh Government about the state of the childcare and play sector in Wales. 

The SASS will be going live on 31 January 2023.  

CIW do not produce a paper copy of the SASS form, so you will need a CIW Online account in order to complete the SASS when it goes live.
