Results of our National Club Survey 2022

To ensure we can continue to voice the challenges facing the Out of School Childcare sector to policy colleagues and decision makers, and to allow us to understand support needs, our National Club Survey called for clubs across Wales to respond to a national survey.  Our key findings and recommendations can be found in the infographic below.

“Clubs are anticipating a range of continuing challenges over the next 12 months following the impact of Covid and now cost of living increases.  They need continuing support to overcome these challenges to continue providing quality childcare and enriching play opportunities for school aged children.  The sector in Wales employs over 5,000 local people enabling parents/carers of more than 40,000 children to work or train, which is particularly important for low income and lone parent families, key workers and others who cannot work from home.

The need for quality childcare and rich play experiences does not stop when a child attends full time school. Enabling parents to return to work will in turn support  economic growth and keep families from poverty in tough economic times.”
