Continue your anti-racism journey with support and training from Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs

What a great turn out for this month’s Clwb Hwb! We would like to thank Leon Andrews from DARPL for his contribution to the session and all the attendees who joined us.   Great feedback was received from the Clubs that attended:

  • “Alex Clare and Leon were brilliant with their knowledge and it’s really made me think about day to day”
  • “Very supportive and clear webinar! Useful information that is relevant to practice”

Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance via email, and this will provide you with evidence of your continuing professional learning and development as a practitioner within your role.

Due to the interest for this subject and requests of support, we will be holding additional follow up sessions within the coming months.  The next one will be 13th January 2024 and aims to enable you to reflect upon the 6  Principles within the Anti Racism Audit Toolkit in relation to your individual Out of School Childcare Club.

We will start the journey with Principle 1: “See all learners and their families as of equal value. Building relationships with the child and family” and Principle 2: “Recognise and respect difference”.

The Audit Toolkit, will provide you with a starting point to move forward on your setting’s Anti Racism journey.

We would also love it if you could share your practice with us for our Y Bont Newsletter.  Please contact us to discuss your practice so we can celebrate and share your success stories.  Clubs sharing effective practice featured in Y Bont will receive diversity resources for their club as a thank you.

A series of more in-depth professional learning aimed at Childcare, Playwork and Early Years Practitioners developed by DARPL and Cwlwm can be booked here: a 3 session series  to be held on 15, 22 and 29 January 18:30-20:30 online via Zoom.
