The Welsh Government are currently reviewing the Child Minding and Day Care Exceptions Order, which excludes certain childcare, play and activity providers in Wales, from needing to become registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) as a child minder or day care provider.

This survey provides an opportunity for those who are not registered with CIW, and offer childcare, play and activities for children aged 0-12 in Wales where the parent or main carer is not present, to provide their views to support the Welsh Government to understand:

• what kind of services and opportunities they offer to children and families in Wales,
• how these settings operate and why they operate in this way,
• what policies, procedures and possibly oversight is in place, and,
• how these settings feel about registration with CIW.

This survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

The survey will conclude on 8/11/24.
