A registered charity, we rely on grant funding and donations to support our core work and provide equality of opportunity to children across Wales.

“ALL CHILDREN HAVE A RIGHT TO RELAX AND PLAY AND TO JOIN IN A WIDE RANGE OF ACTIVITIES”

(Article 31 United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child)

The right to play, leisure and recreation, and to participate fully in cultural life and the arts. It recognises play as an important part of childhood, and that there is a need to set the stage for play and allow children to explore and develop their own ideas.

Poverty is not just about not enough money or food – poverty of opportunity for children is also as damaging!

You can help!  We are appreciative of donations of any size and for any purpose.  You can send us a cheque, made payable to Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs to Bridge House, Station Road, Llanishen, Cardiff CF14 5UW.  Alternatively, you can make a donation, please contact us for the relevant details

Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs is dependent on 15 enthusiastic and committed individuals to manage the organisation and make decisions about its future.

We elect our Trustees on an annual basis, and hold 4 Trustee meetings every year.  There is also a Finance & Personnel sub-committee which is drawn from the main Board of Trustees, and meet 2 weeks prior to the Board of Trustee meetings.

12 of the 15 Trustees must be linked in some way (staff member, committee member, owner, manager etc.) to one of our Member clubs in order to have full voting rights.  We invite a further 3 people onto our Board who have a specific interest in Out of School Childcare in Wales, and who may have specialist skills or knowledge to steer the organisation forward.  For example, professionals such as HR specialists, solicitors, accountants, health and safety specialists, or someone who is keen and enthusiastic about helping children in Wales would be welcome.

You can download a Trustee Job Description here (Insert downloadable PDF) for more information about what this entails.  If you are interested, please contact us!

In the same way that Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs relies on a voluntary Board of Trustees, many of the Out of School Childcare Clubs in Wales struggle to find committed people to sit on their management committee.  If you have the time and commitment to help a local Out of School Club, please contact us.  We will put you in touch with the local Club, and you can help make a positive impact on your community!
