Recycle Week - September 2019
[23/09/2019]

Recycle Week 2019

Recycle Now's Recycle Week campaign is a celebration of recycling.  The aim of the week is to encourage everyone to recycle more, by helping to understand the benefits of recycling items from all around the home and by offering tips and suggestions to make it easier to recycle!

Each year, Recycle Now encourage the nation to get involved with their increasingly popular Recycle Week campaign, by taking part in national and local events to celebrate the fact that more and more of us are recycling.

And each year the campaign is getting bigger and better with increasing numbers of high street brands and well-known retailers and manufacturers wanting to join in.

We can all make a difference

In 2018 the nation realised that recycling can help us solve some of our biggest environmental problems. In the wake of the increased awareness of issues, such as plastic in the ocean, we realised that more and better recycling can help with pollution and climate change. We realised that each and every one of us can make a difference just by making some small changes.

Recycling. We do. Because it matters.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the theme for 2018 was 'Recycling. We do. Because it matters.’ Running from 24th–30th September it was our biggest and best yet.  As with previous years, there were lots of different ways to get involved with highlights including:

  • #RecycleWeek trending No 1 on Twitter
  • A reach of over 27 million citizens across social media, out of home advertising and PR
  • And over 80 business partners getting involved including John Lewis, Quorn, Aldi, Sure, Marmite, Tesco, Danone, H&M and many local authorities across the country.
