Adapted Registration Guidance for applicants and providers in response to COVID-19

CIW continuesto process new childcare and play services registrations and variations to conditions for already registered services.  Registration teams are continuing to prioritise registration and variation work that supports providers to provide services as a result of COVID-19.  Some processes relating to site visits, DBS checks and interviews have been adapted.  Further Guidance for applicants and providers in response to COVID-19 https://careinspectorate.wales/sites/default/files/2020-05/ciw-adapted-registration-guidance-covid-19-en.pdf

Site visits

Site visits will only occur when there are no other means of assessing the suitability of the premises. We can use different methods to gain the information that we need about your premises, such as a premises checklist and looking around your premises via Skype.

DBS checks

CIW will be adopting alternative methods of identification checking remotely, for example via Skype.

Interviews

CIW will be meeting with applicants and Responsible Individuals remotely, including to undertake registration interviews.
