Coronavirus (COVID-19) Self-employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) is for eligible self-employed people or a member of a partnership in the UK who has lost income due to coronavirus (COVID-19). It isbeing extended, and you will be able to claim a second and final grant in August 2020.You can claim for the second and final grant even if you did not make a claim for the first grant.
Unlike the employee scheme, here you CAN keep working. You do not need to prove coronavirus impact, though you will need to declare your business has been adversely affectedover the relevant period: from March to May (for the first grant) or/and on or after 14th July for the second grant.
The first grant opened for applications on Wednesday 13 May. You can still apply for this first grant, but you will need to do so by Monday 13 July. If you believe you're eligible but you've not heard from HMRC, use its eligibility tool to check if you're eligible and, if necessary, arrange an application appointment. This scheme will allow you to claim a taxable grant worth 80% of your average monthly trading profits (from 2016-2019) up to a maximum of £2,500 a month, initially available for 3 months and capped at £7,500 altogether.
HMRC will work out your eligibility for the second grant the same way as the first grant. Eligibility criteria can be found on the .gov website. The second and final grant will be a taxable grant worth 70% of your average monthly trading profits, paid out in a single instalment covering a further 3 months’ worth of profits, and capped at £6,570 in total.

In addition to normal record keeping, you must keep records of the amount claimed, the claim reference number and evidence that your business has been adversely affected by coronavirus.
