Connecting and Supporting Out of School Childcare Clubs and Communities

Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs has been publishing blogs over the last few months to share with settings and decision makers, the challenges, successes and issues that are pertinent to the sector and the children and families they support:

Network Webinars

We have launched 8 free network webinars in August to support the Childcare Sector run over a series of mornings, afternoons and evenings on the following topics:

  1. Preparing to Re-open Your Childcare Setting after Covid-19 This webinar will sign post you to guidance and resources you need for all aspects of your setting to help you re-open after Covid –19.  It will also provide opportunities to discuss with us and other providers how to implement policy into practice.
  2. Playwork Post Covid-19 This webinar will build on our recent publication Playwork post Covid-19 and the forthcoming special edition of Y Bont providing practical ideas how to provide play opportunities, deal with bubbles and promote positive well-being.  It will also provide opportunities to discuss with us and other providers your challenges and experiences and gain meaningful support.

Resources and Guidance

Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs has also developed a range of resources and guidance to support Out of School Childcare Clubs during the Covid-19 crisis.  These can still be accessed on our website’s news page (www.clybiauplantcymru.org) with more to follow:

  • Re-opening guidance and templatesto support Clubs such as a reopening checklist, questionnaire to determine take up of places when Clubs are able to reopen, health and safety checklists and guidance on how to support play with social distancing and infection control.
  • Financial planning and funding resources  such as cashflow forecasts to predict income and expenditure (also needed if making funding applications), funding sources and Top tips for making strong funding applications and preparing accounts.

Training

Our Training team have been working hard to develop online delivery methods for qualifications and CPD training following ‘lockdown’. We are currently delivering Playwork Apprenticeships in Level 2, 3 and 5. We are also now able to offer online delivery of the CACHE Level 3 Award in Transition to Playwork (from Early Years) and online Safeguarding Training.
