This week we celebrate Childrens Day (20th November) and here at Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs we are passionate about children and advocating for their rights.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) was introduced in the UK in 1989, ratified in 1991 and in 2004, the Welsh Government formally adopted the UNCRC as the basis of policy making relating to children and young people.
There are 54 Articles in the Convention - 1-42 outline the Children’s fundamental Rights, 43-54 outline the government’s, local authorities and adults duties in enforcing their rights.
We have developed a Bilingual Poster to highlight the articles we think are particularly important to Playwork and Playworkers. Note the Keywords associated with each Article, use these welsh keywords as a tool in your setting to develop the Welsh Language.
