Update from Welsh Government
The position with regards to childcare has not changed and all childcare remains able to open in respect of all children.
Ministers will be consider what, if any, action may need to be taken in respect of childcare settings. If any further action is to be taken we will ensure you are updated as soon as possible. However, I would stress that there is no suggestion in any of this that childcare is unsafe. Rates of transmission in children, and particularly younger children, remain relatively low and settings should be following the protective measures guidance (this has undergone a minor restructure and refresh to include some additional information on transport, ventilation, TTP advice). We are also looking to reintroduce the NMS relaxations which came to an end 31 December 2020.
