Play is a need and right of all children, and the quality play environments offered by Out of School Childcare Clubs support children’s psychological, social, cognitive and physical development as well as supporting their mental health and wellbeing and encouraging resilience. Out of School Childcare Clubs are not only essential requirements for National economic recovery following Covid-19, but will also support our children to recover and to thrive. Now more than ever, Wales needs to support the Out of School Childcare Sector to ensure our communities can continue to benefit from all it has to offer.
Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs are delighted to present a series of Case Studies written by representatives of the Out of School Childcare Sector; the people on the ground, running Out of School Childcare Clubs.
We would like to thank the following people for their involvement in these case studies:
· Angharad Sully-Williams, Dexters Holiday Club, Bridgend
· Naomi Evans, parent
· Janet Owen, Cool Kids @Cradoc, Powys
· Ben Williams, Big Ben’s Adventure Club, Denbighshire
