Restrictions during Covid-19 have drastically curtailed play opportunities for children, including outdoor play and compensatory play opportunities within schools and childcare. We have estimated that children have lost an average of 585 hours of play during Covid-19. With 19% of Out of School Childcare Clubs already having permanently closed their doors, urgent action is needed to save these valuable community assets offering quality play opportunities for children.
Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs presents our State of the Sector Report, outlining the results from our recent surveys of Parents/Carers across Wales and of Out of School Childcare Providers.
Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids' Clubs asks Welsh Government, local authorities, parents/carers and communities to actively support Out of School Childcare Clubs to enable the revival of communities and the continued availability of quality, regulated play opportunities for children.
