Childcare providers across Wales currently use a variety of systems operated by Local Authorities to receive payment for Childcare Offer hours provided, depending on the Local Authority area the child receiving those hours lives in.
Welsh Government is currently considering how they close down the systems currently operated by Local Authorities when the national digital service goes live. To that end, they would like to hold some ‘virtual’ focus groups with childcare providers via Microsoft Teams to discuss the options available and to better understand what they would mean for childcare providers.
The dates for the focus groups are;
Tuesday 28th September 12.30pm-2pm
Thursday 30th September 6.30pm-8pm
Welsh Government would be very grateful if you could email Digital.Childcare@gov.walesby Monday 27th September to say whether you are able to attend and which session you would like to come along to. They will then send you a link to the MS Teams meeting to join. Could you also confirm if you will be contributing in English or Welsh?
Please see this flyer giving you important information on the move to a new digital service to deliver the Childcare Offer for Wales in 2022. This will mean that all childcare providers across Wales will use a single national service to claim payments for Childcare Offer hours delivered in any area of Wales. Welsh Government anticipates the new service opening to parents in July 2022 for Autumn intake, which will mean childcare providers needing to create an account on the new service from around April 2022. We will be in touch in due course with more information on this.
