When setting up and running an Out of School Club it is vitally important that you have an appropriate legal structure. One of the most important reasons for this is to protect your personal liability. If you are choosing a Limited Company as your legal status we have two new resources; “Becoming a Company Limited by Guarantee” and “Becoming a Company Limited by Shares”. These resources provide guidance on protecting your liability. These will form a package of resources to provide guidance on legal structures. Information about becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation has previously been shared, and we will be sharing further guidance and information about other options soon, including Limited Companies and Community interest Companies (CICS).
You will find the resources within the members area of our website, within Stepping Out, Step 12. If you would like to discuss your options in terms of legal structure, our Childcare Business Development Officers are here to help - you can contact your Regional Childcare Business Development Officer directly, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
