QUALIFY IN PLAYWORK

From September 2021 ALL registered Out of School childcare settings working with children over 8 will need Playwork qualified staff – CIW.

Apprenticeships in Wales are a way to earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills.

If you are employed 16 hours a week or more in registered setting you may qualify for a fully funded work based apprenticeship.

If eligible you could receive funding of: 

£4,840 worth of training at Level 3
£3,500 worth of training at Level 2

Commitment from YOU:

  • Attend weekly or monthly sessions with an approved  Playwork  trainer
  • Commitment to learn and apply Playwork principles
  • Complete Work Based evidence and assignment work

YOU will get:

  • A CIW accepted qualification in Playwork from CACHE also Essential Skills Wales qualifications 
  • Designated trainer and assessor
  • Weekly lessons with trainer, course materials and latest Playwork theories
  • Monthly visits at workplace

Commitment from Employer:

  •   Support you in applying learning in the workplace
  •   Be released for classroom sessions         
  •   Join in  monthly visits / progress meetings

  • Write a letter of application with your CV
  • Explain why you deserve a place on the course
  • Explain your commitment to freely chosen play and Playwork principles

Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids' Clubs were recently awarded 1,000 from Tesco Bags of Help.
The Moondance Foundation kindly awarded a donation of 100,000.00 to Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids Clubs during Autumn 2017.
Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids' Clubs was recently awarded funding from the Welsh Government Sustainable Development Fund, Hanfod Cymru and City & County of Swansea to develop a new project - Gower Play Our Way.
Swansea clubs enjoy games galore and free equipment to promote health and wellbeing.
Childcare clubs in Carmarthenshire enjoying the outdoors and free workshops on the elements, earth, air, fire and water.
Same Stripes Different Ways is a new course, the development of which was funded by Conwy County Borough Council, designed to give those working in childcare awareness and understanding of children with ASD.
Cwlwm's will support the Welsh Government to ensure that families across Wales can access affordable, quality childcare.
Working with Snowdonia National Park, this project will develop fun, new play activities to help children engage with the National Park and get outdoors and active, be imaginative and innovative.
