You’ll be working in a supportive environment where we encourage our staff to flourish alongside our children. We are looking for a person who has experience in the childcare sector, who shares our values. You’ll need to be organised and flexible to deal with ever changing demands. 

 Hours: 22.5 per week (Weekdays during term time, during the school day) 

Salary: Above NMW  

Qualifications / experience required: An NVQ level 3 CCLD is essential to our service, a qualification in Playwork would also be desirable. Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid qualifications will be required. You are also required to hold an up to date and portable Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The ability to speak a good standard of Welsh is essential. 

 Description of duties: To assist and deputise for the Childcare Leader in the day-to-day running of the service. Creating a safe and nurturing environment where the children and staff can creatively develop, learn and flourish at their own pace.  

  Responsibilities: 

  Care and Provision  

Support the Childcare Leader to; 

Deliver high quality standards of care. 

Create a rich environment with stimulating experiences for the children. 

Communicate openly and positively with children, colleagues, and parents at every opportunity.  

Communicate using the Welsh language as much as practically possible during the working day. 

Support with the development of excellent practices.  

Ensure equal opportunities for all children and staff at all times. 

Consistently demonstrate confidence and discretion when dealing with sensitive and personal information about children and their families. 

Oversee planning and the efficiency of its implementation.  

Utilise social media and Class Dojo to keep parents up to date with daily activities. 

Oversee the implementation of an effective Key Worker approach. 

Promote and adhere to all company policies and procedures. 

Assist in ensuring that the setting complies with regulatory requirements.  

Complete all health and safety procedures and documentation accurately. 

Maintain accurate records for the children and staff in accordance with GDPR. 

Lead on the day-to-day running of the setting in their absence of the Childcare Leader. 

To undertake any other reasonable duties required to meet the needs of the service. 

 

Team 

Support the Childcare Leader to; 

Provide day-to-day line management of the team, including assisting with our in-house performance management structures and procedures. 

Support team, creating a safe and judgement free environment for the team to flourish. 

Inspire and lead the team through positive and professional behaviours. 

Encourage the sharing of ideas and participation in initiatives from all colleagues. 

To undertake any other reasonable duties required to meet the needs of the team. 

  

Overall Service 

Support the Childcare Leader to; 

Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents, the school and other key stakeholders.  

Utilise social media platforms and other forms of PR to promote the service.  

Represent the company in a professional, friendly, and proactive way. 

To undertake any other reasonable duties required to meet the needs of the business.
