CIW Out of School Registered Childcare Providers, this is your opportunity to express your views and opinions to help inform the review and any potential changes to the National Minimum Standards (NMS) and Exceptions Order (circumstances under which settings do not need to register with CIW or comply with the Regulations and the National Minimum Standards).

Welsh Government wishes to hear your views to understand how the Exceptions Order and NMS works in practice. Providers are encouraged to talk openly, and their views and opinions will be welcomed.

As part of the NMS review each standard will be considered to ensure it is fit for purpose and:

* supports high quality play, learning and childcare provision.

* provides reassurance to parents that provision meets children’s needs and their wellbeing.

* equips providers to meet relevant regulations in a proportionate manner

* is aligned to ECPLC principles setting out conditions for high quality childcare and play
