Awareness Days

As much as May the 4th will always be Star Wars Day, awareness days and weeks can support us to have a dialogue with children and families and look at different ways of supporting families.

The month of May kicks off with:

National Walking Month

Getting out and walking is great for your physical and mental health but also a great way to raise funds for British Heart Foundation.

National Share A Story Month

Stories are amazingly powerful and this year’s theme for National Share a Story Month is “sail away in a story”. Whether reading from a book, making up a story, using images or puppets or props, stories have a way of connecting people and bring imagination and magic alive.

Deaf Awareness Week

This year’s Deaf Awareness Week (DAW) is nearly here! From 6th – 12th May, to raise awareness and challenge perceptions of hearing loss and deafness across the UK.
There are some eye-catching DAW materials for you to download and use if you’d like to run your own DAW event or raise awareness in your office, school or community.
